Reach Your Goals with a RIGHT Registered Dietitian | Jaime Ruisi
THE NEED FOR REGISTERED DIETITIAN IS EVERYWHERE!
People all over the world are having their lives transformed by well-balanced meals consulted by the professionals. Registered dietitians come from a variety of backgrounds, but share a common passion for helping others achieve their health goals.
Here is a brief snapshot of what registered dietitian partnered with Teatis do in a variety of settings.
Jaime Ruisi is a Registered Dietitian based in New York. She graduated from the University of Oregon Health & Science University with her Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition. Over the course of her career, she has worked in a variety of settings from media, copywriting, recipe development, sports, clinical, and outpatient nutrition services. She has helped her clients achieve their goals (weight loss, body composition, etc.); however, the health of her clients always remains the number one priority. As a Dietitian, Jaime advocates for choosing a lifestyle and dietary pattern that can be enjoyed without restriction.
💙How would you describe your personality?
Enthusiastic, friendly, and passionate.
🍽What is your favorite food?
Warm-baked chocolate chip cookies always rank number one. Maybe even with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. However, growing up in an Italian household, a homemade plate of spaghetti and meatballs is a sure way to this dietitian’s heart.
🏕What do you like to do outside of work?
In addition to being a Registered Dietitian, I am also a Certified Personal Trainer. I enjoy being active – running, biking, swimming, hiking. Anything in the great outdoors! I am currently training for my first marathon this coming November.
👑What’s something you’re proud of?
I am extremely proud of my academic achievements. A graduate degree is no easy task, and a Teatis research project was way outside of my comfort zone. I spent hundreds of hours working tediously analyzing data and writing a well-versed project worthy of publication.
💡Tell me the most interesting story that happened to you when you practice session with patients.
This is a hard one! During my experience as a Dietitian, I have quickly realized that the position is dually aligned with being a therapist. Food is emotional! And, sometimes, people come into my office and just let loose. I’ve had clients sit down with me and shed tears before even speaking a word – and sometimes – there are no words to be said.
🌈What is the most valuable outcome of your session?
The one thing I try to accomplish during any session is to help my clients realize that eating food doesn’t need to be difficult. If I am able to debunk any fad diet, social media post, or advice from friends, then I feel like I have already made a huge stride in leading my clients towards a path of healing their relationship with foods.
